tortellini -

Tortellini is a ring-shaped paste, sometimes also described as "shaped like a navel", then the alternative name of this paste is "navel" (ombelico). This paste is usually filled by a mixture of meat (pork loin, prosciutto) or cheese.

Originally from the Italian Emilia region (especially Bologna and Modena), these pastas are usually served in soups with beef, chicken, or both.

Tortellini and tortelloni (similar but larger, with cheese and / or vegetables) can be found worldwide in packaged or frozen foods, especially if there is a large Italian community. Tortellini and tortelloni are made in Europe to supply markets in Europe or elsewhere. The "fresh" packed tartellini usually has a 7-week period.
