defibrillation - www.healthnote25.com |
Defibrillation is
an appropriate way to restore cardiac normality. The speed at which
defibrillation / cardioversion is an essential element for successful
resuscitation.
The defribrillation action
should be performed before intubation and installation of the infusion tube.
Defibrillation will not be effective and may cause burns to the chest. One
electrode is placed on the right side of the chest, below the clavicle and the
other on the left side of the lateral chest of the mammary papilla.
A good contact between the
electrodes and the skin is obtained by applying strong and even pressure.
Individuals who perform defibrillation must retreat from the patient's bed, and
others should be away from the patient and his bed.
