Camembert
is
a soft cow's milk cheese originating from the Normandy region of France. On the
original cheese added the word "de Normandie" behind the cheese name.
This cheese was certified
AOC in 1983 which determined that the cheese can only be produced in Normandy,
France with a predetermined production method.
This cheese has in common
with Brie cheese in its manufacturing process which also comes from France but
Camembert is produced in smaller form.
Because of its different
size, the maturation process also gives different results on Camembert.
Camembert cheese has a stronger flavor than Brie. Camembert is well served at
room temperature because the cheese is easily melted when exposed to heat.
