Ssamjang (literally "packing sauce") is a type of spicy and thick sauce commonly used in Korean cuisine especially when eating ssambap. This sauce is made from a combination of doenjang, gochujang, sesame oil, onion, garlic, and onion.

How to eat ssamjang is to put a pinch of rice with a piece of grilled meat (galbi or samgyeopsal) with kimchi on a leaf of sangchu (a kind of spring onion) or can also with perilla leaves, then added ssamjang according to taste and then wrapped and eaten immediately.
