Fish sauce is a liquid obtained from fish fermentation with salt. Fish sauce is usually used as a spice for cooking, seafood dyeing, and eastern food, made by fishermen throughout the Asean country. 

The name of fish sauce in Asean countries is also different (Indonesia: petis; Thailand: nam pla, Philippines: patis; Japan: shottsuru, and Vietnam: nước mắm). The unique characteristic of fish sauce is the taste of salt and fish smell.
