Basbousa
(Turkish: revani or ravani, Arabic Egyptian: بسبوسة) is a traditional Middle
Eastern pastry and Egyptian cake. The cake is made from semolina or farina
which is inserted by a simple syrup. Coconut is a popular addition. The syrup
is also replaced with orange or rose water.
