Teppanyaki ( ?, Grilled iron plate) is one way of cooking Japanese food on an iron plate (teppan). In addition, teppanyaki can mean a Japanese restaurant that provides seats with counter-shaped tables, while iron plates are used by cooks to cook food.


The thickness of the iron plate used as a cooking device between 0.3 cm to 1.5 cm. Under the iron plate there is a gas stove with temperature control or a small fire size. Cooked cuisine on teppan, for example: steak, okonomiyaki, monjayaki, yakisoba, and a variety of cuisine from vegetables, meat, or seafood.
