Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum syn Lycopersicum esculentum) is a plant of the Solanaceae family, native to Central and South America, from Mexico to Peru. Tomatoes are short life cycle plants, can grow as high as 1 to 3 meters.

This plant has green, yellow, and red berries that are commonly used as a vegetable in cooking or eaten directly without being processed. Tomatoes have stems and leaves that can not be consumed because it is still a family with potatoes and eggplant containing Alkaloid.
