Submarine sandwiches or

sandwich types consisting of long breads or long rolls and filled with stuffing
such as meat, cheese, vegetables, and spices.
There are

grinder, wedge, spukie, or Italian sandwich. Because of this, this sandwich
does not have a standard name, with more than dozens of variations used around
the world.
Larger
submarine sandwiches, especially long-breaded ones with larger quantities of
ingredients than usual, are sometimes called battleship sandwiches or destroyer
sandwich sandwiches.
The term
