Kedaung or kedawung (Parkia roxburghii G.Don., Tribe of legumes or Fabaceae) is known as an important medicinal plant in the herbal medicine industry, extracted mainly from seeds. In addition to other medicinal seeds are medicinal bark, leaves, and roots.

The most visible properties are as anti-bacterial, and are used in traditional medicine for infections and stomach disorders.

Zuhud et al. (2001) showed that stem barks had the strongest anti-bacterial activity against four types of bacteria tested.
