Doubanjiang is chili paste for Chinese cuisine, and is the main ingredient in Sichuan cuisine. It tastes salty and spicy. The main ingredients are powdered and fermented pig nuts. In addition to pork beans, doubanjiang is made from a mixture of soybeans, rice, soybean oil, sesame oil, salt, and spices.


The doubanjiang production center is located in Sichuan Province, one of them is Pi Xian Prefecture. Its product is called pixian doubanjiang ( 豆瓣).


Spice cook this more spicy when fried in cooking oil. Once fried, doubanjiang often used as a side dish to eat rice or flavoring while eating noodles. Popular cuisines from Sichuan are wearing doubanjiang, for example: mapo doufu and grooming mian.


Doubanjiang Chinese production is not always spicy. Although made only from soybeans and salt (without red pepper powder), manufacturers still call it doubanjiang.
