Doubanjiang
is
chili paste for Chinese cuisine, and is the main ingredient in Sichuan cuisine.
It tastes salty and spicy. The main ingredients are powdered and fermented pig
nuts. In addition to pork beans, doubanjiang is made from a mixture of
soybeans, rice, soybean oil, sesame oil, salt, and spices.
The doubanjiang production
center is located in Sichuan Province, one of them is Pi Xian Prefecture. Its
product is called pixian doubanjiang (郫县 豆瓣酱).
