Ambuyat is
a dish that comes from the inside of a sago tree. This food is a food made of
flour, similar to tapioca flour. Ambuyat is a national dish of Brunei, and is a
well-known local food in Malaysia, Sarawak and Sabah states as well as the
Labuan federal region where sometimes known as linut.
Ambuyat is eaten with a
bamboo fork called chandas, by rolling the starch around the fork and then
dipping it into the sauce, which has a lot of variety.
There is a similar dish in
eastern Indonesia called papeda.
